Unlock Creative Marketing Through Writing
You create a strategic campaign that you love. It speaks to all of your potential customers, it’s engaging and fun, it’s affordable. There’s just one problem- it’s been done before.
“[Marketing] gets very boring,” Shawn Girvan told me during a discussion about marketing and creativity. “To be successful in anything in this world, especially marketing, you need to stand out.” Girvan knows what he’s talking about, too. He holds an MFA in Creative Writing from Goddard College and is currently teaching Creative Nonfiction at the Muse Writers Center in Norfolk while finishing a memoir.
It’s that spark of creativity that we’re all looking for as marketers, and that’s what Girvan will strive to help us find in his Power Hour Lunch Workshop on January 12, 2017. “Creativity is (a marketer’s) chance to break away from the competition,” Girvan said. “By thinking creatively you are able to look at the product and what you’re trying to market in a different way.”
Girvan’s panel will involve some simple writing exercises designed to bring out that untapped, inherent creativity. Just the process of writing can help marketers think outside the box and look at their clients, products, and for many of us, it could be the nudge we need to come up with that next big idea.
If you’re worried that you’re not a creative person, the exercises in this workshop will be designed for all; even those who feel like they’re in a creative slump. Also, according to Girvan, everyone has inherent creativity. “I think everyone has the ability to be creative. Every decision you make has the potential for creativity.”
Now all that’s standing between you and your creative potential is to sign up for Girvan’s Power Hour lunch writing workshop.
In this workshop, you will learn:
• How to unlock your creative potential
• To better communicate using the written word
• How to start the New Year with fresh ideas
• Break away from the formula and see your campaigns and clients through a new creative lens
